Epic Games and Fortnite: Partnership Value Streams

The opinion on Epic Games is that its collaborations, such as the Fortnite x One Piece event, demonstrate how strategic partnerships generate new value streams. This collaboration is part of a mini-season for Chapter 7. Hotspawn reports that the One Piece Fortnite collab was officially revealed by Epic Games through an official teaser. This reveal occurred during an in-game glitch at two PM. Insider Gaming confirms the mini-season is pirate-themed and features crews including Jonesy & Hope, A$AP Rocky, Hatsune Miku, and Lil Uzi Vert. The mini-season is set to last for exactly one month before Chapter 8 begins on December 1.

What Happened: The Facts

The One Piece collaboration was a long-rumored event, despite Fortnite featuring other major Jump franchises like My Hero Academia and Dragon Ball. Hotspawn notes that the reveal came after initial teasers involving musicians and original skins for Jonesy and Hope, culminating in a Vocaloid trailer for Pirate Miku. The Battle Bus is shown transforming into a pirate ship in the official teaser. The mini-season is scheduled to release with the Fortnite season ending on November 1. Hotspawn

What It Means for Players

Players can experience the collaboration through the official release, as the initial in-game glitch was not a full live event. Hotspawn suggests the proper full Fortnite live event will occur at the end of the season, which should include more Fortnite lore, though the collab reveal itself does not advance the story. The next season will not be fully focused on the One Piece crossover; it will be one of many crews competing for Treasure. Hotspawn
